Calliteara horsfieldii Tussock moth

I got this larva on Friday, March 20, 2015, ‏‎9:45 AM when I was on my way to Biology Laboratory of Semarang State University.

I found this larva of moth in cassava leaf (Manihot utilissima), so I thought that plant was it host plant.

I looked for some information, then I knew that this caterpillar feeds on 29 families of plants that include more than 50 species.

This larva is yellow with a grey back and a prominent black band on the first abdominal segment. Its body covered with long pale yellow hairs. These include four tussocks on the back of each of the first four abdominal segments, and a longer spike of hairs on the tail.
Then, I brought this larva to Butterfly Sanctuary of Semarang State University. Some days later, it forms a cocoon.
